6/7/20 Worship Service – Sunday School Resumes!

HPC Update for Sunday – June 7, 2020

Dear Hope Church Family;

Greetings again in the name of our Risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! This Sunday (6/7/20) we will be gathering together again for Sunday School, for worship and for fellowship following the morning worship service. Here’s the details –

9:30 am Sunday School for all of the church in the Fellowship Hall. We’re starting our study of Hebrews.  We will try to live-stream Sunday School.

10:30 am: Morning Worship in the sanctuary. We can now meet at 50% capacity (80 worshipers). We will continue to live-stream the worship service.

12 noon: A church picnic following worship. Please bring your own picnic lunch, drinks and chairs.

Nursery: Miss Zeta will be available to care for our covenant children in the nursery. The nursery was totally cleaned and disinfected yesterday.

We’ll continue to follow the practices of health safety: Use the hand sanitizer. We encourage the use of masks. Follow safe-distancing guidelines with our seating (6’ apart). Don’t congregate at the doors. Let me again encourage our “at-risk” members to stay at home for another week or two. It’s our prayer that you continue to stay healthy.

The worship bulletin for June 7 is linked below. You can find the Sunday School lesson from Hebrews 1:1-4; 2:1-18 on our Facebook page – Hope Presbyterian Church. Books will be available at church tomorrow ($5).

Please be steadfast in prayer for God’s peace in our land, for repentant hearts and for the hope of Christ.

Grace and peace;

Pastor Dean

Sunday, June 7 – Order of Worship / Bulletin

Let’s Gather This Sunday!

Hope Church Family:

By God’s grace and for God’s glory, we will be gathering together for public worship for the first time since the pandemic began on this coming Sunday- May 17, 2020 at 10:30 am.  In this First Phase of our governor, churches can now freely gather for corporate worship. Let me give you several details as you thoughtfully consider coming to worship this Sunday.

  • Our church sanctuary and fellowship hall were professionally sanitized today (May 15).
  • The worship service will still be live-streamed through Facebook and YouTube. We would strongly encourage church members who are at risk, in poor health or feeling sick – to please stay home. Come when you’re better.
  • Plan on arriving a few minutes earlier! Hand sanitizer and masks (optional) will be available outside the fellowship hall. Enter the church through the door by the church offices.
  • Ushers will guide you to your seats. Families can sit together, but all others will need to sit at least 6 ft. apart. Bulletins will be placed on the pews and you will not need to use the hymnals.
  • Changes? No greeting time. No children’s sermon. No children’s church. No nursery. No coffee time
  • Communion: We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together with a few modifications
  • Capacity: In the 1st phase, our seating capacity in the sanctuary pews is 25% or about 40 people. We will also have additional seating for 20 in the Fellowship Hall and live-stream the service.

Take time to pray and thoughtfully consider whether you and your family should come. The Lord will graciously guide your decision as you consider your circumstances, pray and read Scripture.

Attached, please find the worship bulletin for this coming Sunday, May 17.  Please continue to pray for our worship services, for our church families and for Gospel outreach.  Don’t forget to show the love of Christ to your “neighbors” with your words and deeds of love and mercy.

Grace and peace;
Pastor Dean
